Well, we're back from Chicago, a little bit wetter, but no worse for the wear. The walk started off decently, the weather was overcast and chilly, but not too bad...
And then the craziness started...Within about 10 yards of starting it started raining, but not constantly, just off and on. And when it did rain, it was hard. So, we made it through about 4 miles of the walk with rain off and on, when all of the sudden, the sky opened up and let loose with a monsoon. It was crazy! Rain was coming at us from all sides, even from the ground! We didn't manage to finish the whole walk, because I was a little worried about keeping Aiden out in the cold and rain too long, he doesn't need to get that cold in his little body. So, we caught a cab, and went back to Rachel's apartment to dry off and get some brunch. Overall, it was fun though, Rachel Katie and I got to talk and enjoy ourselves despite the rain, and rain or no rain, the March of Dimes got our money anyway. It was a good weekend in Chicago with my sister, and the walk was interesting. Thanks to all who donated money to the cause this year, and start saving for next year, I'll be around asking for donations again!
Well, off we go...Aiden and I are headed up to Chicago to stay with my sister for the weekend. Sunday is the March of Dimes March for Babies, and we are doing the walk to help earn money to research more ways prevent premature births. I'll be posting pictures from the weekend on my Picasa Web Album page off and on over the weekend, so feel free to have a look. Hope everyone enjoys the beautiful spring weather this weekend!
Aiden and I went to The Magic House today. It's a children's museum in St. Louis, they just recently finished and opened a very large new wing, and an online mom's group sponsored a play date there for the first so many people who r.s.v.p.'d. So, I got online and got us on the list. It was a lot of fun. I am pretty sure Aiden had fun, too. There was a story book area, where he could pretend to be in different fairy tales, he particularly liked playing the piano in the feasting area of Beauty and the Beast.
There was a sand play area, a construction play area, learning classrooms with arts and crafts were open. There were lots of noise making cause and effect exhibits. There were play cars and there was a water play area. Aiden loved both of those. I think after the water play area, we were both a little wetter than when we came in. Overall, I think it is pretty safe to say that we had a good time. Maybe we'll go back before we leave...

Okay, so on the front of being better about updating this...Today Aiden and I went to the Missouri Botanical Gardens with my friend Jenny and her little girls Katie and Claire. We had a good time, minus a few tantrums on Aiden's side. There was so much to do in the Children's Garden area that he just couldn't get enough of everything. There was a mock jail cell that he really enjoyed...
And then he really enjoyed making music with Katie, and by himself ...But in the end, he was totally wiped out and we headed home for lunch and a nap. It was a fun day, and I really hope that we can do something with Jen and the girls again!
Ok, so I know it has been months since I posted anything and that is terrible. But we all know how good I am at keeping in touch with people. So, we will just move beyond all of that into update mode. I will keep this short and sweet and then I will do my best to update things at least every other week...So, since the last post in November we have been incredibly busy. Thanksgiving we spent at my parents condo in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. We spent Christmas in South Carolina with Jeremy's family. Which we really enjoyed, Aiden made out like a bandit between both sides of the family and he had a field day unwrapping everything. Next year he may actually understand the principal of opening presents. :) And then in January we found out that the official start date for his tech school class was April 6, 2009. So we decided then that Aiden and I would be staying with my family and Jeremy's family while he was away at training. So, currently I am in St. Louis, MO with my family and I will head out to South Carolina the week before Memorial Day and spend that month with Jeremy's parents before heading back to New Mexico to get ourselves ready to move. We are all doing really well, despite the seperation. Aiden and I got to go to my cousin Melissa's wedding in Savannah, GA which was beautiful, and lots of fun. And while I am here, I plan to see as many people as I can. I will also be making a short jaunt up to Chicago, IL the weekend of April 25-26 for the March of Dimes March for Babies, which I will be doing with my sister, cousin Kate, and Aiden. Feel free to donate money to the cause, any little bit helps ( http://www.marchforbabies.org/myjen40 ) . Aiden is doing a little bit better in the area of talking, which makes us all very happy. Jeremy is doing well in class and has his first block test tomorrow night. They have his class working the midshift (11pm-7am) which does make talking a bit difficult but thankfully the internet and webcams are around, and we use those a lot. Easter was a really great time for Aiden, he had a blast with 3 different egg hunts, and finally got the concept at the second one, in time for the private just for him hunt that we had here at my parents. The candy monster comes out now and then demanding to be fed, but with one little piece we can usually fend him off. And that really leads up to today, which was pretty slow. I am still trying to recoup from a bout with strep throat and bronchitis, but we are all doing well otherwise. I hope everyone else is doing well, and that you haven't all given up on me as hopeless when it comes to blogging. I apologize for being so terrible about it, but I am going to make a concerted effort to be better about it from here on out. I have lots of pictures posted on our Picasa Web site from the past several months, so feel free to look at those. And I will leave you all with this adorable little face to look at.
